You retain full ownership and copyright of your work. Submitting your work does not transfer ownership to The Taishi.
You must own the work you submit or have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it to The Taishi.
Do not submit work created by someone else, including work found online, unless you have obtained permission to submit and publish it.
By submitting work for consideration, you grant The Taishi a non-exclusive license to publish and promote your work.

Our editors will make reasonable efforts to preserve the author’s original meaning, voice, and intent. We will not substantially alter the substance or viewpoint of a work without the author’s knowledge.
For significant editorial changes, we may contact the contributor before publication.
We accept previously published work in some circumstances.
If your work has been published elsewhere, you must disclose this when submitting it and confirm that you have the right to allow The Taishi to publish it.
Contributors are responsible for ensuring that any previous publication agreement does not prevent them from granting The Taishi the rights described above.
Journalistic submissions must be based on accurate and verifiable reporting.
All interviews conducted for a journalistic submission must be recorded and submitted to The Taishi along with the article whenever reasonably possible. Recordings may be used by our editorial team to verify quotations, context, and translations.
Contributors should clearly identify themselves as reporting for The Taishi when conducting interviews on behalf of the publication.
Whenever reasonably possible, articles should include at least one direct quotation from a relevant source who is not a friend or family member of the writer. Sources should have direct knowledge, expertise, or relevant experience concerning the subject of the story.
Quotes must accurately represent what a source said.
Contributors must not fabricate, substantially alter, or take quotations out of context.
When an interview is conducted in Japanese or another language, the original-language recording must be retained and submitted alongside the article. Translated quotations should preserve the speaker’s precise meaning, tone, and intent rather than simply providing a word-for-word translation.
When appropriate, published quotations may be identified as translations.
Creative submissions should be original works created by the contributor or works for which the contributor has the necessary rights and permissions.
For collaborative works, contributors should identify all relevant creators and obtain their permission before submission.
For music, film, photography, and other media containing third-party material, contributors are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to use copyrighted material when required.
We take accuracy seriously.
If an error is identified in a published work, The Taishi may make corrections or updates as necessary. Corrections will be made in a way that preserves the original meaning and intent of the work.
Significant factual corrections may be noted transparently when appropriate.
Contributors are encouraged to notify The Taishi if they discover an error in their published work.
Contributors may request that their work be removed from The Taishi after publication.
Removal requests will be reviewed individually. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, removal may not always be possible, particularly when the work has been incorporated into promotional materials, archived publications, or other previously distributed content.
The Taishi may collect personal information necessary to process submissions and communicate with contributors.
Information submitted through our submission form is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Contributors should not submit unnecessary personal or sensitive information about themselves or others as part of their work.
Submitting work does not guarantee publication.
The Taishi reserves the right to accept, decline, edit, or postpone submissions based on editorial standards, available space, relevance, originality, and other considerations.
We may decline work that contains plagiarism, fabricated information, harassment, discriminatory content, significant factual inaccuracies, or material that the contributor does not have the right to publish.
Our editorial decisions are made with the goal of maintaining the quality, accuracy, and integrity of The Taishi.
The Taishi does not accept AI-generated work. Submissions must represent the contributor’s own original creative, intellectual, and journalistic work.
AI tools may be used for limited supporting purposes, such as spelling and grammar checks, transcription, accessibility, or translation assistance, provided that the contributor remains responsible for the final work and its accuracy.
For journalism, AI must not be used to generate or fabricate reporting, quotations, sources, interview responses, facts, or other material presented as original reporting. Any AI-assisted translations or transcriptions must be checked against the original material for accuracy.
Contributors should disclose any substantive use of AI tools when submitting their work. The Taishi reserves the right to request clarification, revisions, or original source material where necessary.
Work that is substantially generated by AI—including AI-generated writing, artwork, photography, music, film, or other creative content—will not be accepted.
