The Taishi is primarily focused on youth connected to Japan and the people and ideas shaping its future. This includes Japanese youth living in Japan, international and non-Japanese youth living in Japan, and members of the Japanese diaspora and Japanese communities around the world.
You do not need to be a professional or have previous publication experience. If your work offers a meaningful perspective on Japan, its communities, or the experiences of its youth, we encourage you to submit.
Once you submit your work, our editorial team will review it for originality, accuracy, quality, and alignment with The Taishi’s mission.
We may contact you if we have questions, need additional information, or would like you to make revisions before publication.
Submitting your work does not guarantee publication. We reserve the right to accept, decline, edit, or postpone submissions based on our editorial standards and available capacity.
If your work is accepted, we will work with you to prepare it for publication while making reasonable efforts to preserve your original meaning, voice, and intent.
